Rain, Toast and Shakespeare

So Jesse & I haven't had a genuine sleepover in almost an entire year. It was obviously time for one. First, we went to an amazing Italian restaurant and had huge slices of pizza. Then we went bought gobs of junk food (because that's obviously required for a sleepover). Then we spent the entire night talking, staying up way too late, and eating said junk food.

The next day when we finally woke up, it was raining. It wasn't like a torrential downpour, but it certainly wasn't drizzling either. It was one of those steady beating rains that make you want to read.

So that's exactly what we did. Jesse & I managed to read the entire play of Henry V (Shakespeare, folks) in one day. Not sure how we did it, but I'm pretty sure the tea and toast probably helped with the authenticity.

They have a beautiful back porch facing the woods. It was chilly outside, but not freezing. So we did what any normal teenage girls would do (haha, just kidding, we kind of eschew the norm without even trying) and we put blankets out on the porch and made tea and toast, and read. The entire play.

I have to say that the play was wonderful. I'm kind of a Shakespeare geek anyway, but I totally fell in love with Henry V.

And now for the kind of pathetic part. I'm a photographer, right? Well the only picture I got was on my iPad because I had just (and I do mean just) gotten back from a long photoshoot and I didn't even feel like bringing my camera along. So yes, iPad picture -

Luckily, Jesse's mom thought it was hilarious that we chose to spend our time reading Shakespeare, and took this shot:

(Disclaimer: The only reason I'm on my iPad is because I don't own a print copy of Henry V. And the only reason the laptop was out there was for background music [The Piano Guys for the win!].)

and because I know you were waiting for me to say this... I will be sharing pictures from the shoot on Saturday as soon as possible.

Until we meet again!

  1. Looks like you girls had lots of fun. Nerd times are absolutely the best, especially when they include tea. *smile* Oh, and the Piano Guys are splendid background music.
I can't wait to see photos from your shoot!

    Love,
    Emily.
