6. What do you make the most of? For example, sweaters, accessories, hats, etc.
my answers:
1. Do you knit or crochet? both, actually. I'm a more avid crocheter than knitter.
2. Do you enjoy collecting yarn? this question makes me laugh. If you could see the amount of yarn that I have somehow managed to fit in my room, you would be astonished (in my closet, in totes, under my bed, beside my chairs, on my shelves) yarn really is everywhere.
3. Why do you knit? To give gifts, sell it, just because, etc. I make things for the joy of it, most of the time. Store up the things that I've made, and then give them as gifts and take them to local art fairs to sell. So the answer really is, all of the above.
4. How long have you been knitting/crocheting? My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 6 years old. I'm 16 now. So I've been crocheting for ages. Now it's something that comes natural to me. It's therapeutic, even. People always ask me why I took up crocheting, and they are amazed that a child of 6 years old could learn that. For me, I really learned patience from it. When I'd get really frustrated I'd just calm down and try again. I remember for the first few months after I'd learned, all that I could do was the chain stitch, and I'd leave long chains around the house. Bless my family for dealing with me.
5. What is one of your favorite things that you have made? Why? Oh, geez. That's a hard question. I guess my favorite thing would be the lace shawl that I made. I used thread and a very small needle (not even a letter, it was number!), and crocheted a shawl. I tea stained it, and then hooked it with a vintage looking rose broach. It looks very jane austen-ey and now I wear it with my opera dress.
6. What do you make the most of? For example, sweaters, accessories, hats, etc. I probably make hats, and bags the most. And maybe socks and fingerless gloves.
well, then. I hope you all enjoyed reading my ramblings about yarn :)

Thanks so much for linking up, Hannah! I love your answers, especially about when you learned to crochet. My grandmother tried to teach me to knit when I was about that age, but I just couldn't do it. :) I can completely relate with the stuffing-yarn-wherever-it-fits (which is pretty much anywhere) thing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Emily.
I feel your pain! I never could knit until the beginning of this year.. In fact I'm still pretty bad at it!
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, yarn does fit pretty much anywhere that you want it too :)
Thanks for commenting!
Hannah, do you mind adding your link to the link tool? I was going to, but then I realized that it needs your e-mail. :) Thanks a bunch!
ReplyDeleteThe link tool? :O I don't think I know what you're talking about!
ReplyDeleteSorry! On the bottom on my post above where you can comment, there's a little blue bar that says "Add you link here". Once you click on that, you enter the name that you want to appear with your link, the link to this blog post, and your e-mail that won't be visible to anyone (I don't even think that I can see it). Hit "Submit" and then whoever sees it can click on it and read your answers!
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely sorry, but I can't find it :/
ReplyDelete... is there a way I can just type something out on here? :(
Then nevermind. I won't bother you with it. :) I know you linked up so you'll be in the drawing for the prize. Thanks anyway!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm so sorry :/
ReplyDeleteOh no, it is completely fine. I am just so glad that you did this post!
