\\ { The Sea always filled her with longing } //

Spent this past weekend at the Beach.
It was incredibly lovely.

Favorite songs of the week // "Dance Around the Memory Tree" by Oren Lavie {listen HERE} It's wonderful.

Crafting this week // a cross stitch picture and a knit scarf

Books I'm reading this week // "The Return of the King" by J.R.R Tolkien and "Dracula" by Bram Stoker

Books I've finished this week // the first book in "A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket. It was great! I read it in one afternoon, and it held my attention the entire time. It was funny, well told, and a wonderful light read.

Favorite quote of the week // "The Sea always filled her with longing, though for what she was never sure." -Cornelia Funke 'Inkheart'

Favorite part of the week // going to the beach, of course. It was so beautiful.

The walks alone spent in silent reverie. The gingerly placed footsteps over broken seashells. The wind blowing sand in my face. The salty taste of ocean air on my lips.
The coffee shop in the hotel lobby {starbucks} that I frequented every morning.
The morning spent drinking hot coffee on the windy balcony and watching the sun rise.
The reading on the beach with a camera and headphones.
The sitting on the balcony at 1:00 in the morning reading on my iPad with my sister writing on her laptop, listening to the waves breaking and crashing on the shore.
The pools and hot tubs that were only an elevator ride away.
The late nights spent with my family laughing and watching movies in the hotel.
{my parents, my sister, my brother, my other sister and her husband and three daughters, my grandmother and my great aunt all came on this trip}.
The trip my Aunt Carolyn took us on to Broadway at the Beach (a fair/shopping area).
The car trip on the way up with my sister, grandma and aunt.
The car trip on the way back with my mom and dad and sister.
the whole trip.
It was so much fun!

  1. I am so incredibly jealous right now. I love the beach. End of story. Up here, its still too cold to spend lots of time at the beach, but I really must go soon. Lovely photos, dear! I am glad that you had a good time.

    Hugs,
    Emily.
